Galaxy A70s will be first phone with 64MP camera

After a recent report that the Galaxy Note 10 could have the first 64MP camera, the latest South Korean daily news claims that the Galaxy A70s will be the first phone with the 64MP Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor.

Using 64MP sensors will result in “high-detail” images in bright conditions. The sensor also includes “Super PD”, which is a high-frequency phase-detection technology (PDAF). As for the video, the GW1 sensor can record at 1080p (FHD) at 480fps. Samsung says that it provides support for “smooth slow motion pictures like a movie.”

This upcoming mid-range phone is likely to be an upgrade to the recently released Galaxy A70. If these reports prove correct, the Samsung Galaxy A70S could take over with its 64MP sensor the crown from the current Sony champion.

The first device with a 64MP camera should be launched in the second half of 2019.
