OnePlus announced that they will stop collecting private data

Recently, we wrote how OnePlus models gather private information from their devices. This brand collected the data like, phone lock or unlock time, serial numbers, IMEI, MAC adresses. Wi-Fi SSID-s. In that period, company announced that "We securely transmit analytics in two different streams over HTTPS to an Amazon server. The first stream is usage analytics, which we collect in order for us to more precisely fine tune our software according to user behavior. This transmission of usage activity can be turned off by navigating to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Advanced’ -> ‘Join user experience program’. The second stream is device information, which we collect to provide better after-sales support."

CoFounder Carl Pie said it is true that they are doing it and, more important, that they take privacy very seriously and do not share analytics with third parties

Data collection stops by the end of October, unless you want it. All OnePlus devices that run OxygenOS will have a prompt in the setup wizard that will ask users if they 'want to join their user experience program', and some of the informations like phone numbers, MAC and WiFi informations will not be collected anymore at all.
