Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G passed FCC certification
The Samsung Galaxy Fold has a 5G version that has just passed certification by the FCC. This information comes from My Smart Price which had an insight into the official documentation. The device was filed back on April 25 and the certification from an EMC report was approved on June 3.
The EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) test ensures the device doesn’t emit too much electromagnetic energy to cause or receive interference to/from other devices.
The 4G version of the Galaxy Fold is a dualSIM device that supports both a physical nanoSIM and an eSIM while the 5G version uses only a single SIM slot. Also, the 5G model will have a somewhat smaller 4,235 mAh battery compared to the 4G version’s 4,380 mAh. These are the only differences between these versions, and aside from them, they are identical.

Samsung Galaxy Fold was delayed in April when review units unexpectedly failed. The folding display was too fragile and the company used this time to ensure a more durable design before the phone arrives into the hands of the public.
Samsung Display Vice President announced last week that this delay will soon be over. Although the issues appear to “have been ironed out, and the Galaxy Fold is ready to hit the market,” there is still no specific date or timeframe for release.
