Will your phone get a new, Android 8.0 update?
Looking at the matter that many phones still haven't received Nougat update, Oreo is already here, and we should be optimistic. Named Project Treble, new plan is to allow phone brands, as well as the manufacturers of hardware in your phone, to easier update their software so it could work with new Android Oreo source code. You will get the possibility to control notifications to details, with picture-in-picture function, you can use your phone while you are video calling for example! There are also Wi-Fi improvements, improvements for data storage, as a lot of other options that you need to discover, but, there is one question. When?
- Asus confirmed Oreo update for ZenFone 3 and 4 which they announced „by the second half of 2018“
- OnePlus announced update for model 3 and 3T, but model 5 is going to be updated, probably too. All of this should be implemented to the end of 2017, they have said.
- Sony announced update as well, to be precise for: XZs, X Performance, X, XZ Premium, XZ, X Compact, XA1, Touch, XA1 Plus and XA1 Ultra. Unfortunately, they have not announced the period when this is going to happen.
- Nokia said, that all of their devices will be updated to Oreo, including Nokia 3.
- Motorola put down a list of phones that will get an update: Moto Z, Z Force, Z Play, Z2, G5 and the G4.
