Galaxy Fold coming soon according to Koh

Samsung has been reporting that the Galaxy Fold is coming soon for quite some time now. The Korean company has an executive do an interview every once in a while who says that the phone will still be launched, and it will happen sooner rather than later.

Samsung co-CEO DJ Koh has now told The Independent that he admits he “missed something on the foldable phone”, but the company is recovering. At the moment more than 2,000 prototypes are being extensively tested in order to eliminate all possible issues.

Koh even said that “it was embarrassing. I pushed it through before it was ready”. He didn’t reveal any more details – like whether Huawei’s announcement of the Mate X had anything to do with the rushing of the Fold to the market. Then again, seeing what happened to the Fold, Huawei has also decided to postpone the release of the Mate X by around three months. Now the phone should come in September.

Koh claims that Galaxy Fold hasn’t been canceled and will indeed launch, but again doesn’t say when. He only said it will be out “in due course.” “Give us a bit more time,” he said. “The last couple of weeks I think we defined all of the issues and all of the problems we couldn’t find [before sending to reviewers].”
