Kirin 985 comming with built-in 5G modems

Kirin 985, the latest chip from Huawei to be found in the Huawei Mate 30 series will be made through extreme ultra-violet lithography. Kirin 985 is the first chip made in this kind of process, and HiSilicon will install 5G modems in all units, which will equip all new phones with 5G connectivity.

The processor is made in a FC-PoP method that vertically arranges the transistors, and as the ultimate result, the density of the transistor is increased by 20% which contributes to better performance and lower battery consumption.

The production of this chip will begin in the third quarter so Huawei could put chips in their phones in October. Huawei will be a real rival to Apple and the A13 chip this year

As far as the Huawei Mate 30 Pro phone is concerned, as it could be seen by the render of the protective cases, the phone could have as many as five camera sensors on its back. If these renders were correct, the new phone would have a 3.5mm audio input at the top. We hope to see improvement of the fingerprint sensor located below the screen.
