A phone? A tablet? Both? Samsung Galaxy Fold unfolded!
Samsung Electronics has announced the long awaited Galaxy Fold, and on the last night's event it opened a whole new chapter in the smartphone industry. This new device category offers many new possibilities that we simply didn't have on smartphones so far. Not only the shape of the phone is changed, but the future of mobile technology in general.

This foldable device is designed in such a way to make everyday lives of users easier. When the phone is folded, you only see a single shaft of multitasking information, similar to what you see on your smartphone. However, when the phone is unfolded, you get a much bigger panel that show what you've been seeing on the smaller display as well as the option to show and launch multitasking with up to three applications at the same time, which means that you can, at the same time, surf the web, write, play games or watch videos.
The device uses two Infinity Flex displays. When the phone is folded, it uses a smaller 4.6" HD+ display with the aspect ratio of 12:9, while when unfolded it uses an impressive 7.3" QXGA+ display with the aspect ratio of 4.2:3 and 420PPI pixel density. It can definitely be said that the Galaxy Fold looks far better when unfolded compared to how it looks when used as a traditional phone. It opens up easily and smoothly, like a book, and it folds back into a compact device with a click.

Samsung has implemented two batteries into the Galaxy Fold which are evenly distributed and separated by a hinge, but are combined into a mutual system where they together have the capacity of 4380 mAh. The fingerprint scanner is located on the right side where the thumb naturally sits, so it's quite easy to unlock the device.

What's definitely interesting when we speak about this phone is that it has a system of 6 cameras, three outer, two inner and one front facing camera. On the back side of the phone there is a triple camera setup with the main 16MP sensor that has the aperture of f/2.2, a 12MP telephoto camera with the aperture of f/2.4 and OIS and a third wide angle 12MP camera that comes with OIS and adaptable aperture of either f/1.5 or f/2.4. There is a double front facing camera setup (10MP + 8MP depth of field camera). No matter how you use the phone, cameras will always be easy to access and to capture all your precious moments.

Galaxy Fold is equipped with a high quality Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Taking into account all its features and capabilities, we can say with certainty that Galaxy Fold is more than just a smartphone. It represents a blend of all devices and services the company has been developing for years in order to offer to the users the option to do things that they simply couldn't do on their normal smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Fold comes in Silver, Black, Green and Blue, while the Samsung logo found its place on the metal hinge. When it comes to the price, the Galaxy Fold will have the price of around 2000 euros in Europe.
