DxOMark graded cameras on the Galaxy A50

Galaxy A50 is one of the latest Samsung’s mid-rangers, which was launched in February 2019. With its features and structure, it belongs to the middle section of the market. Despite it definitely belonging to the middle class, it still managed to outperform several older flagships regarding camera performance.
Triple camera setup built into this phone has managed to reach a decent 83 point score at the DxOMark. This result places it on par with the last year’s LG G7 ThinQ and Apple iPhone 7.
In terms of phots, it scored 85 points. The A50 is capable of producing great phones with nice colors and high dynamic range. However, it still lacks fine details, which with zoom get completely lost. Photo quality is even further hindered by poor autofocus in low light as well as poor exposure management in night shots.
Video recording is also not particularly good due to the loss of details, as well as poor autofocus. What seems to be a good thing regarding videos is god color accuracy in both indoor and outdoor environments, well-managed noise and good static video stabilization. Video segment reached the score of 79 points at the DxOMark test.
All in all, the Galaxy A50 still can’t compare to some of the best mid-rangers out there, and definitely not, quality-wise, to latest flagships. Its price of only around 250€ is the redeeming factor though.
