Et tu, Note9?

The public have barely forgot about the Note7 fiasco with it catching fire, and one could think Samsung would do anything withing their power to stop it from happening ever again. Sadly, a recent report proved otherwise.

A real estate agent from Long Island, Diane Chung, filed a lawsuit against Samsung to Queens Supreme Court claiming that her new Galaxy Note9 spontaneously caught fire while she was in an evelator. It happened just after midnight on September 3. Chung reports that her phone first "became extremely hot" after which she put it back in her purse. This wasn't the end of it as the phone then starter producing "whistling and screeching sound, and she noticed thich smoke." She then tried to put the fire down burning her fingers in the process, but couldn't do it, so she dropped the phone and "extremely panicked" smashing her hands on the elevator buttons in an attempt to stop it. Once the elevator stopping she kicked the phone out and a "good Samaritan" picked it up, put it into a bucket of water and ended this whole situation.

Galaxy Note7 burned down

Chung says that all of her belongings in the purse were destroyed, and clains that she has lost contact with her clients, while calling the whole experience "traumatic".

On the other hand, Samsung is taking the report very seriously following their experience with the Note7. This time around they obviously do not want to discontinue the whole line so they are doing everything they can to investigate the matter.

Samsung Galaxy Note9 is the Korean company's flagship, if this turned out to be common place, it could potentially be catastrophic for the company. At this moment, Samsung can't afford another burning or exploding device.
