Huawei caught cheating on benchmarks!
Four Huawei devices got caught manipulating benchmarks on the 3DMark test. Huawei admitted that they have made a mistake to the protal Anandtech, and the company UL behind 3DMark already sanctioned the Chinese brand by removing their devices from their lists. Phones involved in these manipulations are Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Nova 3, Huawei Honor Play and Huawei P20.
Tested phones had a hidden testing mode which boosted the performances of the devices by up to 40% once 3DMark application was detected. This option is, of course, not available to the users, but Huawei now wants to justify their actions by providing the "Performance Mode" which would be available to the users on demand and which could really provide more power to the users when necessary.
