MediaTek has announced Helio P22
The new SoC, Helio P22 was uncovered on May 22th by MediaTek and it is the first mid-range chipset which will be built on a 12nm process. It has an octa-core CPU with Cortex-A53 cores recorded up to 2 GHz and it is supporting dual main cameras which have resolutions of 13 MP and 8 MP with 30fps video recording. 1,600×720 screens are supported and the maximum ratio is 20:9. Dual Sim option is also present with LTE connectivity on both of them. Further characteristics include 801.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and GLONASS.
The Mediatek says that the P22 ''offers the benefits of AI-accelerated experiences.'' This is achieved through support for usual AI systems like a TF Lite, TensorFlow, Caffe and Caffe2 and ''an auto-select function for the best available AI resource for developer efficiency''. It also provides the ''AI accelerated camera experiences including Face ID'', the ''smart photo album'' and ''single –camera as well as dual-camera depth of field features.''
The Helio P22 should be available in devices by the end of June, because it is still in the production process.
