New update fixes Samsung Gear S3 overheating issue when being charged

A new update from Samsung has started rolling out for the Samsung Gear S3 Classic and S3 Frontier variants to patch up some mild issues and improve overall stability. The software update also finally included a fix for the Gear S3 where it overheats when being charged at around 90% capacity.

The new update can be manually installed when connected to a smartphone through the Samsung Gear app. It’s also worth knowing that the latest update is worth 16MB of storage and it goes under the software number of R770XXU2CRG3 and R760XXU2CRG3 for both the Gear S3 Classic and Frontier.

We might see another major update for the Gear S3 since Samsung is also unveiling their Galaxy Watch also known as Gear S4 on August 9 along with its revamped version of Tizen 4.0 so hopefully the revamped OS will also be implemented for the Gear S3.
