Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 845 chipset
The second day of Qualcomm's Technology Summit was dedicated to the new chipset – Snapdragon 845. The chipset is designed to create high quality video clips and represents the boundary between the physical and the virtual world. Qualcomm also introduced integrated Spectra 280 image processor, as well as the Adreno 630 GPU on this chipset. We also received support for 4K UHD video at 60fps, which is a real novelty, as well as slow motion recording in 720p resolution at 480fps.
On this chipset we can also see the Hexagon 685 DSP (Digital Signal Processor), AQustic Audio, and the fastest modem of this company – the X20 Gigabit LTE radio, but such a modem will only be useful in countries with 4G support.
Snapdragon 845 supports several types of biometric protection, such as fingerprint sensors, face, voice, as well as iris scanners.
The Kryo 385 processor embedded in this system on chip contains four high-end cores that work at 2.8GHz and four lower performance cores for daily operations that are clocked at 1.8GHz. Such a processor should be 25% faster than last year's flegship – Snapdragon 835. This chipset even consumes 30% less energy than the old one, and thanks to the new graphics processor, a graphic segment such as gaming or rendering is improved by 30%.

According to Qualcomm, the first handsets that will have this chipset under the hood are Samsung, Xiaomi, LG, HTC and Sony, and we can expect such events early next year, which is going to occur for a less than a month.
