Samsung is developing a new iris-scanner camera, should find it’s place in S9 model

Samsung does not stop with its technological innovations and it has been for a long time in the public eye, both with its phones, as well as with chipsets and sensors. Also, the next expected flagship model (S9 and S9 +) is increasingly appearing in news and stories, and the latest rumors show us that Samsung is about  to improve the iris sensor. Samsung invented this unlock system with the Note 7 model, but they were withdrawn from the sale because the batteries overheated and caused devices to explode. After failed model, we could see iris unlock system on the S8, S8+ and Note 8 phones that are the current flagships of Samsung.

The story that comes from Korea claims that Samsung is upgrading this system and that the new models of the phone will have a higher-resolution camera, which will naturally increase the accuracy and speed of scanning iris and unlocking the device in some cases. Existing iris-scanning camera will be replaced with a 3-megapixel camera, which is a big advance from a 2 megapixel camera on current system. "The iris camera lens will be improved to 3 megapixels from 2 megapixels of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 to capture clearer images. The scanner will better recognize users’ irises even when they wear eyeglasses, move their eyeballs or are in a too dark or too light environment,", said insiders who are familiar with this situation.

In addition to camera lenses, it is believed that Samsung is developing a new software for this process, which will hopefully shorten the phone's unlocking time by less than one second, as some fingerprint sensors work at a speed of 0.1 seconds.
