Samsung plans to mass produce foldable OLED panel this summer

Samsung is planning to mass produce the foldable OLED panels this summer which is planned to be featured in the Samsung X smartphone which will come next year 2019 according to a Korean news report, ETNews.

Other smartphone manufacturers are also eyeing out on the foldable OLED panel technology such as Motorola, Huawei, and Apple.

Another new report regarding the foldable OLED panels is that the design will fold two-thirds of the way up instead of unfolding vertically growing in size (from 4.5” to 7.3”) which is odd looking when you’re gonna answer a call. The screen is expected to be ready on early 2019 to match with the unveiling of the Samsung X.

Samsung seems to be trying to make foldable smartphones to be the next fad for the smartphone industry. There’s still a lot of room for design improvement so we’ll just have to wait until next year to see it for ourselves.
