Samsung’s new Exynos series 7 chipset provides great features to mid-range phones

Samsung Exynos 7 Series (7094) is a new smartphone chipset that brings next gen photo experience, together with vastly improved speed and battery consumption.

The new processor is built on a 14nm process, which will result in significantly lower battery consumption and lower heating of the chipset. It consists of 2 high performance Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, and 6 proprietary Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. For graphics performance, the chipset uses an Arm Mali-71 MP2 GPU which provides up to 80% better performance compared to the predecessor.

Exynos series 7 supports either a single camera with a 32 megapixel resolution or an advanced triple camera setup for high resolution recordings and other new functions. The chepset enables the smartphone with a triple camera to capture wide angle panoramic photos or portrait shots. It also offers different photo editing options as well as a faster FHD at 120fps or UHD at 30fps videos.

This chip has already entered production, and we can soon expect to see new Samsung smartphones utilizing the new Exynos 7904 chipset.
