Samsung’s new phone will be called Galaxy Fold

Recently there's been a lot of talk about the first Samsung's phone with a foldable display, and today we learned that this mysterious device will be called Galaxy Fold.


When it comes to the specs, Galaxy Fold will have substantially larger viewing area compared to other smartphones, and because of it it will need a bigger battery. There was talk about the use of two batteries inside the Galaxy Fold, and their combined capacity should be around 6000 mAh. Other than the battery, the foldable phone should be equipped with a triple main camera setup as well as a single front facing sensor. Memory-wise, we expect it to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, while there's a possibility to see a 512GB version as well. The main thing about this phone is its 4.58" 1960 x 840 pixel display, which when unfolded becomes a large 7.3" 2152 x 1536 pixels screen. The phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 855 chipset. and it will work on One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie.

This information comes from a famous Twitter leakster Evan Blass who has confirmed that the new phone will be called Galaxy Fold, and not Galaxy F as it was expected. Anyway, we'll know many more details about it after today's special event.
