Samsung to supply OLED displays for Huawei P30 and P30 Pro

As the launch of the Huawei P30 family is approaching, we're receiving more and more information about the devices. A rumor today seems to suggest that Samsung will be the sole display supplier for the Huawei P30 Pro. The vanilla P30 should also be receiving Samsung-made OLED displays.

A Weibo post that claims to have information from the inside says that Huawei and Samsung have made a deal regarding the production of displays for the P30 and P30 Pro. This rumor is likely to be true due to several reasons. One of the reasons is that Samsung is the largest OLED manufacturer in the industry. The second reason is that it's just – easier. Huawei will have to deal with only one supplier. Also, there's the last year's issue with LG displays.

Let us remind you that the Mate 20 Pro had displays produced by BOE and LG, but LG-made panels malfunctioned within a week of launch. This has undoubtedly made a dent on the overall sales of the phone.

It's nice to see Samsung and Huawei collaborating instead of quarreling. After all, technology is moving forward, and it just makes economic sense for the companies to work together and increase profits.
