Sony announced Google Lens to the XZ2 family
Sony announced today that the camera app of its Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones will support Google Lens. Users can get it through a free update of the pre-installed Google app. And to top it off, the recently unveiled Xperia X72 Premium will launch with the Lens functionality built in the camera app.
So what’s Google Lens? Google Lens helps you identify what you’re pointing the camera at such as cars, cuisines, dog breeds, and much more. Using it, you can find products online or copy text from the real world around you and paste it on your phone app, add events to your calendar, and as well as get more information about the landmarks and movies with just a touch of a button. Lens also identifies popular plants and animals for you.

As of now, Google Lens supports English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. Note that the rollout of the update that brings Google Lens into the XZ2 family’s camera app is phased, and it might take a few days for it to reach all the devices out there.
