Wireless headphones coming from Google and Amazon

In the past year, many new phones came out, and many of them have been released without a 3.5mm audio port, that has been staple for so long. Usually, users in that case have several options – either use heaphones that connect through an appropriate port, use a dongle or buy a pair of wireless headphones.

Apple AirPods are exactly such headphones, and because they are selling so well, Google and Amazon want a piece of that cake as well. This is why Ming-Chi Kuo, a TF international analyst, believes that both companies will launch their own wireless headphones in H2 2019. Google already has wireless headphones, the Pixel Buds, which are not two separate ear buds like AirPods but are rather connected to each other via a cord. Their advantage compared to AirPods is that you can use real time translation with them as well as summon Google Assistant.

Kuo also believes that virtual assistance is where Amazon shines with Alexa which is exactly why their own headphones are expected to be a massive hit. And while Apple AirPods only (correctly and as intended) work with Apple products, we can expect Google's and Amazon's products to be equally amazing no matter what platform you're using.
