Issues on the search bar of the Google Pixel smartphone causes problems for the users

There are reports from a number of people on reddit who owns the Google Pixel series smartphone running on Android 8.1 Oreo and Android P Developer Preview 4 complaining that the Google Search Bar found on their home screen isn’t functioning properly. The problem is that when users start to type to search for something, the search bar doesn’t show the past search history or search suggestions. Another issue arises when users found out that rebooting the smartphone doesn’t solve the problem.

Fortunately, a Reddit user found a temporary way to fix it although it may not work for all Pixel models. It seems that by enabling the Google feed through the Pixel launcher, the search suggestions came back on the search bar. It may not be everyone's cup of tea to search this way using the Google feed but until an official patch to fix it gets released, it’s the only way to get the search suggestion back again.
