Huawei Mate X to come in November
At a press event in Shenzhen, Huawei talked about the Mate X. The bad news is that the phone got pushed back. Initially, it was scheduled to come in September, but now, it will come in November. Also, the phones’ design will be slightly different than we first thought.
Huawei really does not want to rush with the design of the phone. They want to make it perfect, which is why they are taking their time. Some of the refinements include an altered Falcon hinge and a slimmer power button.
The good news is Huawei also talked about a Mate X successor, which come as soon as next year. Huawei will increase the screen area by swapping out the metal back with a glass one.
So while most markets probably won’t get a Mate X in time for the holidays, next year should see the foldable phone race properly heat up.
