Mate 20 X 5G coming to China on July 26
Huawei introduced a 5G version of its Mate 20 X back in May in the United Kingdom. The 5G version is different from the regular version as it has a slightly smaller battery on the expense of gigabit speeds. Later it came to other European markets, and now it is coming to its home market in China. The company has started sending out invites for media representatives to attend a July 26 unveiling.
Since this is a 5G phone, the users in China might even see an official unveiling of the 5G network in China. The network standard should first appear in big cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.

The phone came to the UK market with the price of £999, but it’s safe to assume that, in China, it will be a bit cheaper at around £800. The Mate 20 X (5G) shares the same chassis as its non-5G variant, but the Balong 5000 modem needs a little bit more space, hence the battery reduction from 5.000 mAh down to 4.200 mAh.
While Huawei is preparing for this event, ZTE is also joining in on the 5G hype train. Tomorrow, the company will start registering people interested in the Axon 10 Pro 5G launch, however, without an arrival date. We expect to hear more about it in the next several days.
