Face recognition unlocking comming to OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5 will receive Face Unlock feature from its new brother, OnePlus 5T. This announcement was written by Carl Pei on his Twitter account, who is the Co-Founder of this company. He also wrote that this function will be implemented to the given model because of user demand.

Unlocking the phone with a face is a rare feature that we see. The technology and principles in which OnePlus performs this function are based on your face's photo, and this is not exactly that safe. When registering your face, your phone will also tell you that the fingerprint or PIN is more secure. Technology on the iPhone X model is based on much more complex actions and projecting dots on your face, so this is not the case here.

OnePlus did not announced if they could add this feature to 3T or older models, and we highly doubt this. This option will come to model 5 with 5.0 OxygenOS update, which is based on Android Oreo, but the arrival date of the new system is not announced yet.
