Here is Apple’s patent application for a foldable phone

So far, we have had the opportunity to see various Android devices and their foldable phone patents, but today we come to the realization that Apple has also been researching the iPhone with a flexible screen.

Apple engineers showed us through patents a variety of ways to use a flexible or folding screen. This is a continuation of the patent originally filed in 2011 and updated in 2016, and today we see a supplementary edition of this patent  which the company is finally ready to introduce.

Apple has shown us 49 patents showing a foldable device that can be folded to suit different form factors. Photos indicate that Apple has two options of overlapping the device, both indoors and outwards, and the screen will be placed either on the inside or outside of the folded device.

They also put a great focus on new flexible sensors, a new flexible battery, and flexible body of the device.

Apple seems to be studying the different types of foldable devices for the future, and this technology described through this patent can be used not only for smartphones but also for other Apple products. However, it is still not confirmed that the company will release its foldable iPhone for 2019, but what is certain is that this company is also planning its entry into a folding future.
