Honor Play 8 introduced at remarkable price

Honor introduced a new ultra-affordable phone today under the name Play 8.  The phone is powered by the Helio A22 chipset and has only one camera on the back. Also, it comes with a basic tall panel, and also a very aggressive $120 price tag.

There is a 5.71” LCD panel with a water-drop type notch on the top. The resolution is HD+ and the aspect ratio is 19:9.

On the back, there is a single camera that has a 13 MP sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. It brings some nice features like HDR. On the front, the selfie camera shoots 5MP photos and comes with an f/2.2 aperture. Because it doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, Honor uses the selfie camera with the Android face-unlocking technology.

The Honor Play 8 comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, expandable via microSD card up to 512GB. The phone actually has a dedicated microSD card slot, which means that you’ll be able to use both your SIM cards too (complete with Dual 4G).

The phone runs on EMUI 9.0 based on Android Pie and packs in a 3,020 mAh battery. Sadly, on the bottom there is an obsolete microUSB port without fast charging support, but you can’t even expect more at this price.

Honor announced the Play 8 in a collaboration with D.Phone, a Chinese smartphone retailer, but you can also purchase it at Vmall, TMall, JD and Suning, among others.
