Qualcomm testing new chip for Android Go phones

The main smartphone chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm, has released one of the most surprising news. Instead of producing the fastest chips of today, they are currently working on the new SoC, which is intended for entry devices, which will also make the way, and a good foundation for new Android Go devices.

This new QM215 chip will be separated from the Snapdragon line and will come on the market as a independent Qualcomm Mobile 215 Platform.

Although almost no information is known, it seems that this is the same base as the Snapdragon 410 and 425 chipsets that use the quad-core CPU (most likely from the Cortex-A53 core) and runs at 1.3GHz, and the GPU running at 650MHz . We still do not know if Qualcomm will build it using a 28nm process or newer method. Prototype devices advertise LCD screens (a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels), and a small amount of memory, up to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

We believe that these energy efficient chipsets will be perfect for small and ultra-cheap smartphones, and as such will offer unbelievably favorable options for consumers.
