Snapdragon 735 internal documentation leaked

Qualcomm launched their mid-range Snapdragon 730 just a few weeks ago, but a 735 appears to be on the timeline as well. This leaked image looks like an internal document and details the future chipset’s key specs.

Most probably, the chipset will be built on a 7nm process just like the current flagship Snapdragon 855. It’ll feature an octa-core CPU in a new 1+1+6 core configuration. It is expected to be clocked at 1×2.9GHz + 1×2.4GHz + 6×1.8GHz. Kryo cores are likely going to be Cortex-A76 for the two main cores while the 6 others will likely be Cortex-A55 cores.

Inside the Snapdragon 735, there will be the Adreno 620 GPU, which will be clocked at 750MHz. Adreno 618 found in the Snapdragon 730 was clocked 825MHz. The new Snapdragon 735 will also come with an NPU220 (Neural Processing Unit) clocked at up to 1GHz for AI-related operations.

Also, the Snapdragon 735 will likely have a 5G modem. This suggests that Qualcomm might be preparing a midrange 5G smartphones as early as next year. This tip comes from the same source that brought us an early look at the Snapdragon 730 last year. Last year it was mostly accurate so we believe it this time too. However, we’re not taking it for granted as things might soon change.
