Xiaomi Mi 6 receiving Android Pie beta
The sixth generation of Mi smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 6, was launched in April 2017. On release, it ran on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Soon after, Xiaomi started delivering software updates to their MIUI.
Now, this compact, former flagship receives its first beta update to the Android 9.0 Pie, thanks to MIUI 10. The update weighs around 1.5GB. Since this is only a beta update, there may be some errors or issues with general features of the device. However, if you want to try out the beta, you should simply make a backup of your phone and download the update.
Definitely, the best piece of news is the fact that Xiaomi is still working on its older devices. Their competitors don’t regularly update the software of their older phones, some not even on their new phones. With the new update, the Xiaomi Mi 6 should feel as fresh as ever.
