Chinese display manufacturer aims to becomes Apple’s major supplier of OLED displays
BOE Technology Group, a Chinese-based company who manufactures LCD displays and is also one of the suppliers of Apple’s iPad tablet displays now aims to become Apple’s major source of OLED displays in hopes to compete with its rivals as claimed by a report from the Wall Street Journal. The company also sells their OLED display to Huawei and they expect to be able to supply other phone manufacturers soon especially Apple by 2020 if they meet Apple’s demands for quality.
The company is currently the only Chinese manufacturer to supply Apple with screen displays. They are doing a good job so far in terms of trying to win Apple with the recent reports of the OLED panels manufactured by LG having poor quality control while having a steady competition with Samsung's displays. Although Apple will still likely continue to have at least multiple suppliers to get an edge on lower pricing and just in case if a problem with one of the suppliers occurs.
