Xiaomi Mi 9 announced, here are the specs
Only a few hours ago, Xiaomi has announced their new flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9. We'll have the global announcement at the MWC in Barcelona on February 24, but all the specs are already knows. This is the first phone by the Chinese manufacturer to have a tripe camera setup, the main on which has 48MP resolution.
Sony IMX586 with Quad Bayer filter has the size of 1/2" while the pixels are 0.8µm in size. They can be combined together to form a 1.6µm Super large pixels. This sensor sadly didn't find its place in the Redmi Note 7 – there we can find the same resolution, but the sensor is made by Samsung.
This phone is also equipped with the fastest wireless charging technology available – up to 20W. The 3300 mAh battery will wirelessly be charged up substantially faster. This charging system has received the TÜV certificate, which means that the technology is very safe to use. The charger you get inside the factory box with the phone has the power of 18W.

Let's get back to the camera. Next to the 48MP primary sensor there is a 16MP ultra-wide sensor with the angle of 117 degrees. This camera has pixel 1µm in size and a separate autofocus system, so that it will be able to take photos from only 4cm distance. The third one is a telephoto sensor. This is 12 megapixel sensor with laser autofocus and aperture of f/2.2. The selfie camera can be found inside the waterdrop notch, it has the resolution of 20 megapixels and the aperture of f/2.0, but with no autofocus.
The front facing camera comes equipped with AI facial unlocking system, but next to this option there is an in-display fingerprint scanner. As in the previous versions, there is NFC and IR blaster.
The Mi 9 is one of the first phones with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The protection covers the 6.39" Super AMOLED display with 1080p FullHD resolution, and screen to body ratio stands at 90.7%. Always On display is another feature that this phone will support. The display is well lit and the brightness goes up to 600 nits.
The latest flagship comes with the latest chipset – Snapdragon 855 which will come paired with either 6 or 8GB of RAM and either 64 or 128GB of internal storage, but there will also be an option with 12GB of RAM and even more storage memory. This new phone will also feature the Game Turbo mode which will optimize the CPU and GPU for gaming. Kryo 485 cores offer up to 45% increased performances which makes the Snapdragon 855 that much faster than the Snapdragon 845.

Xiaomi Mi 9 still hasn't been officially announced and what we just talked about is the Chinese version that may lack some features. Final information and release date will be announced in Barcelona, but we do know that we'll get a transparent version as was the case with the Mi 8. Entry level 6/64GB version of the Mi 9 will be priced at 395€ in China, the 8/128GB will cost 430€, and the most expensive transparent version will set buyers back 525€, once again, in China.
Mi 9 is available in Lavender Violet, Ocean Blue and Piano Black.
