More than 10,000 Asus ROG Phone 2 were sold in 73 seconds

The first flash sale of a gaming smartphone, ROG Phone 2, happened this morning and the entire series of 10,000 devices disappeared in 73 seconds. The Asus company made an official statement apologizing to all those who wanted and did not arrive in time to buy this smartphone. They also add that their product line staff are doing their best to prepare as many phones as possible for the next sales phases, which are scheduled for August 4, 7 and August 12.

Before the sale started on the popular JD.com website, this smartphone had more than 2.5 million bookings. After that first wave of purchases, the reservation was reopened, after a check the amount of reservations exceeded 110,000 phones in a very short time.


Asus ROG Phone 2 is the first phone to use new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, and from these figures and sales figures we can see that this smartphone is very popular. It comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED 2340 x 1080 pixel display, which supports HDR 10 and has a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. As for the camera, there is a 24MP front camera and a dual rear 48MP + 13MP, paired with a dual-LED flash. It is powered by a huge 5800 mAh battery, which should be enough to power long gaming periods.

Tencent’s special version, which comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal, costs € 458 for instant bookings. The classic version with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs € 786.
